.:Ancient Truths:.

The First Nations (Native Americans) were already here in America when the conquistador’s starting coming to America. When Columbus first arrived in the Bahamas he performed a ceremony to “take possession” of the land for the King and Queen of Spain. This ceremony according to “European Voyages of Explorations,Columbus’ and his men took ashore the royal standard, which was a flag with the King and Queens coat of armor on it. Making declarations of claiming the land in front of witness, along with the Natives.

  • He believed he had all rights to do so in the name of God due to a religious doctrine now know as the Doctrine of Discovery.

  • These archaic doctrines are still recognized by the government today. It was quietly adopted into the US law by the Supreme Court in 1823.

  • These doctrines are known as Papal bulls. The first Bull, Romanus Pontifex 1452, issued by Pope Nicholas V was 40 years before Columbus’s journey to America. It was issued to King Alfonso V of Portugal declaring war against all Non-Christian around the world promoting conquest, colonization and exploitation of Non Christian nations and their territories. This Papal bull (there are several bulls, see www.healingtheland.com/articals) basically divided the undiscovered world in half. Giving equal parts of all lands, found and to be found, to the royal families of Spain and Portugal for land ownership in America. This bull instructed King Alfonso of Portugal to “invade, capture, vanquish, and subdue, all enemies of Christ to put them into perpetual slavery and to take away all their possessions and property. These papal bulls were used by the Europeans to "discover" and "take possession of" the New World. This pattern of "discovery" has been one of the primary factors in perpetuating the genocide of the First Nations people, not only in North America, but in the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Many of these documents have never been revoked and could continue to hold spiritual precedent in the land and over the people. There has been several appeals to the Pope to revoke this bull but has yet to be revoked.

  • “The Requirmento” of 1512 which states:

  • But if you do not do this, and wickedly and intentionally delay to do so, I certify to you that, with the help of God, we shall forcibly enter into your country and shall make war against you in all ways and manners that we can, and shall subject you to the yoke and obedience of the Church and of their Highnesses; we shall take you and your wives and children, and shall make slaves of them, and as such shall sell and dispose of them as their Highnesses may command; and we shall take away your goods, and shall do all the harm and damage that we can, as to vassals who do not obey, and refuse to receive their lord, and resist and contradict him; and we protest that the deaths and losses which shall accrue from this are your fault, and not that of their Highnesses, or ours, nor of these cavaliers who come with us. And that we have said this to you and made this Requisition, we request the notary here present to give us his testimony in writing, and we ask the rest who are present that they should be witnesses of this Requisition.

  • The Requerimiento, or Requirement was read by the Spanish conquistadors to the First Nation people of the “New World” as part of there “take possession”of the Land ceremony. They made it quite clear they had arrived to conquer the land and its people. The Natives had no idea of what the conquistadors where saying or doing. They could not renounce anything because they did not understand their language or there ceremony.

  • Sadly, the story of Florida’s First Native people and the thousands of years that they cared for this land is largely untold. These natives bore the brunt of the invading armies of the Spanish, French, and English in the 16th century. They were, therefore first to succumb to slavery, warfare (bloodshed), and diseases introduced from Europe. In less than 2 centuries the Timucau, Appalachia, Callus, Tocobaga, Ais, Mayaca, Jororos and many other Ancient Tribes in Florida had perished. Only there mounds* and a few artifacts are left to mark their passing. Each of us has ancestors that, at some time in history, lived in a “primitive” society world where their survival depended on extensive knowledge of the natural environment and their ability to adapt themselves to it. So no mater where you live in the world there where “First Nations” people there.

  • The Bible tells us of God’s extraordinary love for His land. We see how he scatters his people and sets boarders for His people. He also makes our lots secure and He has determined the times and exact places were we are to live. Let’s look at some scriptures for this.

  • Joel 2:18 shows us God’s is zealous for His land:

  • 2:18 Then the LORD will be zealous for His land,
    and pity His people.

  • 2 Chronicles 7:14 God is waiting to heal the land:

  • 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

  • Psalm 24:1 Declares that the earth belongs to the Lord:

  • 24:1 the earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness,
the world and those who dwell therein.

  • Genesis 10:5, 11:9 we see God scatters His people:

  • 10:5 from these the coast land peoples of the Gentiles were separated into their lands, everyone according to his language, according to their families, into their nations.

  • 5. Deuteronomy 32:8 God establishes boundaries and borders:

  • 32:8When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam; he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

  • Acts 17:26 God determines the times and exact places where His people live:

  • 17:26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,

  • In Genesis God gave Adam and Eve stewardship of the earth, dominion over ALL the earth. When Adam fell from Grace, the land fell also. First blood shed was when Cain killed Able.

  • Genesis 4:10 10 And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.

  • Then there was Achan, in the Book of Joshua, Achan sinned and buried the loot in the ground and it became the Valley of Trouble.

  • Joshua 7:20-21 Achan replied, "It is true! I have sinned against the LORD, the God of Israel. This is what I have done: 21 When I saw in the plunder a beautiful robe from Babylonia, two hundred shekels of silver and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. They are hidden in the ground inside my tent, with the silver underneath."

Then of course there was the blood of Jesus that was bought for thirty pieces of silver all the way to present, all blood still cries out to God for justice. God cannot turn a deaf hear to it.

Isaiah 26:21-21 For behold, the LORD comes out of His place
    To punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity;
The earth will also disclose her blood, And will no more cover her slain

  • When the land is not redeemed this gives Satin legal access. The Native American people were the First Stewards of the land in Florida. It was taken from them time after time by brutal force. Stewardship can be lost, hidden or stolen from God’s original purpose by decisions made concerning the sphere of influence God has entrusted to us. Such as the four categories which cause our land to be defiled and give Satan legal access. (See Theology of the Land for more in depth teaching).

Idolatry-this can be personal or national

    Jeremiah 3: 6-10, 16:18

Immorality and fornication-this can be personal and corporate level

    Lev 18:1,19:29

    Col 3:5-8

    Gal 5:16-21

Bloodshed-this is a main root when not addressed for critcism, anger, jealousy, bitterness and rage toward others.

    Num 35:33-34

    Is 59:1-3

Broken covenants-there were over 400 broken treaties with the First Nations people.

    Is 24:5-6, 33:8

In turn when these are not addressed, this causes the four main judgment of God discussed in the previous teaching on Theology of the Land. They are found in Ezekiel 14:13-20.

In conclusion let’s look at this scripture, Lev 18:26-28, we see once again what is done on the land in the past can defile the land. I am in no way saying that is was all the First Nations people fault who defiled the land, please do not take this article wrong. It is my heart to help the church see what has been done to the First Nation people and how our land has been defiled from past to present day. Seek the Lord and His strategy like Jehoshaphat did. Then go out and take our land back from the enemy.

Lev 18:26-28 26 You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you 27 (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), 28 lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you.

    mounds
  • There are 3 types of mounds:
  • Midden-which is the shells and carcass of there leftover foods
  • Burial mounds- where they placed they're dead
  • Templemounds-where they did there worship to the sun gods and other false gods.
